Eight weeks, sixteen cast members, twenty-five costumes, two gigantic set pieces, and more boas and feathers than you can count - and that doesn't count the cowboy and a giant diamond necklace. If this math problem seems random, it's not. This is what it took to bring the 6th annual high school level musical 'Charleston!' to the stage. And took the stage, they did!
Sixteen students representing four high school and the home school community took the stage for two weekends of high-energy fun.

Here's the announcement we've been waiting for! The Princess to open March 22nd!
Details on the PRINCESS BLOG, OR the PRINCESS WEBSITE!
A friend asked me the other day about the old drive-in that was where McDonald's is today. It don't seem possible to younger folks that a drive-in theater could possibly fit in the area next to the Exit 347 ramp, but one did back in the 50s!
I followed up by asking Dub Harmon what he remembered, and even though he couldn't remember full names, he could remember much of the timeline.

How beautiful these old buildings, part of the Princess Complex, look. It's amazing what a fresh coat of paint will do to historical buildings. My wish is that all the old buildings in Roane County will get a fresh makeover one day soon!
Maybe it will catch on and spread all over the county!

The Princess welcomed hundreds of courteous visitors this past Saturday and Sunday, and created enough buzz to get herself on WBIR's 11PM newscast! Reporter John Henry himself seemed impressed by the positive outlook that beamed from the faces of everyone that came.
People barely looked down long enough to greet each other. The new Princess auditorium even brought tears to some, like long time supporter Freeda Breazeal (on the right above) of Atlanta, Georgia. She's never given up hope and called frequently to keep up the spirits of those working hard to see the restoration to fruition.
