Rep. Dennis Ferguson,
We have waited over a month watching and waiting on the promises that were made in Nashville when we tesified in front of the House Environment & Conservation Committee.
As we testified, the panel looked shocked, and I can only ascertain that they did not fully understand the impact that the TVA disaster had left on the residents of our community. We did our best to voice what was going on in our community.
The panel appeared concerned and asked questions, and Rep. Ferguson even though you were not on that committee you did attend because this disaster happened in your district.
After we met with you in your office, you asked "what we wanted"... we told you we would like answers, help for residents that were in need, and help in getting regulation on the Fly Ash.
We gave you a list of residents that needed assistance in relocation.. you stated you would contact them. I went back to Roane County and advised residents that they would be hearing from you... but you gave that list to TVA instead...
and as of today I know of no-one that you have contacted from that list.
The residents just needed to hear assurances that you had heard us... that you understood our concerns, that you cared.
It's hard to hold on to empty promises.

Not to divert attention from the current events, I just wanted to remind readers of the upcoming New Year's Eve events happening at Holy Joe's in downtown Harriman. The Creative Arts Co-op is hosting it 2nd annual Murder Mystery on December 31, 2008. And what a show it will be! With appetizers, dessert, live performance, and party favors - it is the real thing. And with an optional 'dinner and show' package with the Spot Cafe(prime rib, no less), the evening supports Roane County.
With a top notch cast that comes from the area (from Harriman to Knoxville), the show itself is a blast. And when the actors aren't on our stage, they are dazzling audiences at the Bijou Theatre, Shakepeare on the Square (Market Square, Knoxville), Cumberland County Playhouse, and even Nashville. The quality and showmanship of our cast equals - if not exceeds- any other show in east Tennessee. Any this is close to home.
There are still seats available. For more information please contact the Creative Arts Co-op at 765-1129.
Thank you and have a Happy New Year!

We know about the Houston brothers and their trials.
As a county made up of many communities, a lot tend to take sides. I am going to say what needs to be said.
This is getting out of hand!
