Have you seen the billboard near I-40 exit 364 (Hwy. 321/Melton Hill Dam and I-40/I-75 split)? It says, "America or Obama / You can't have both / Paid for by the Roane County Tea Party."

Area Democrats are asking for donations to provide a countering billboard in the same area (the sign that did have a Julia Hurley ad).

The Roane County Democratic Party Labor Day Picnic will be held Monday, September 6, at noon in shelter #2 at the Roane County Park, 3515 Roane State Highway.

Gubernatorial candidate Mike McWherter, Congressman Lincoln Davis, and State Representative Dennis Ferguson will attend.

Cost for the picnic is $5.00 per person. Children 12 and under may attend for free.

Update: State Representative Dennis Ferguson's "campaign kickoff" will be at 5 PM, also at Roane County Park.
