Chief Charlie Redwine of West Roane County Volunteer Fire Department (WRCVFD) is pleased to announce the results from the Insurance Services Office, Inc., (ISO) 11/2013 inspection:

WRCVFD's classification has improved from a 6/9 to a class 5/8b. I would like to thank those who worked so hard in getting our department ready for this inspection. As with any fire department and community it is a big deal for us. Hats off to those who assisted. A copy of the Score Summary is available for review at Station One.

For many years, ISO has done evaluations and ratings of the fire protection provided in communities. These ratings can affect insurance rates.

I love these folks! Chief

I love these folks! Chief Redwine has always been on the front lines when forest fires have threatened our home and lands. He showed up here at 1 a.m. to help cut a fire line above our house when wind kicked up and the fire jumped the State Forestry's line, and he showed up here with breakfast for the fire fighters the next morning.

Love me some volunteers!

Thank you so much, WC. West Roane County VFD ((link...)) really needs some loving from our community. Our fire and emergency medical care depend on community support, yet last month there were no donations at all.

In addition to donations, West Roane VFD needs more of those wonderful volunteers. Firefighters and EMTs and folks who help behind the scenes--all are needed.

West Roane County Volunteer Fire Department is a United Way Partner Agency
