To post something positive about a community that is admittedly less than perfect. Harriman, and specifically Cornstalk Heights, won a singular distinction recently. And I think it is worthy of note.
I'm expecting somebody to take the opportunity to point out all imperctions possible, but nonetheless: "This Old House" is a program shown on PBS television, and it showcases many neat and old houses and their refurbishment. Recently they did surveys of areas having superior old houses all across the country. Tennessee was included, and only one community in Tennessee made this highly honorific list: Cornstalk Heights in Harriman.

I say congratulations to Harriman and residents, especially those who work so hard to make Cornstalk Heights a noteworthy community.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, RB

That's a great piece on Cornstalk Heights. Whenever I show someone around Roane County those fascinating homes are on my tour route.
