So now it's out in the open...Harriman and Kingston will do battle over the tax revenue available in the corpse of tiny town, Midtown.

All of this would be easily solved if we simply did away with Harriman, Kingston, and Rockwood and made one good municipality out of them. The new town could be justly proud of the new HighSchool built at Roane state, and the only real question would be...What do you call the new City?

Harkinrock doesn't have all that good a ring to it on first hearing it.

Rockingman?

If we could wave our magic wand...

... and do away with the bad qualities of each town and preserve the good qualities, it would be amazing what the new united municipality of Archibald, TN could do. Hell, would even be first on alphabetic lists, too, so maybe not at the bottom of so many lists!

Oh my gosh, it's just

Oh my gosh, it's just insulting. I don't care what either side says...we all know they're grabbing.
Considering being first, perhaps we should go with 1A, TN. At least most of us could spell it.

Well, Sure!

Oh my gosh, it's just insulting. I don't care what either side says...we all know they're grabbing.

Actually, I've heard from some of the folks who would wind up in H'man that they'd rather wind up in K'ton, given the choice. My question is why should they have to choose between two such options?

Now's the time to come up with the name for the new City and make the move.

(Where did "Archibald" come from?)

Archibald

Dang, Creek, it's the first name of the namesake of the county! Archie Roane!

We're going to name the new town "Archie"?

Call the marketing department and tell them to make something up.
