What would we do without electricity? Well we wouldn't have toxic fly ash and toxic heavy metals in our environment. We would have made use of Tesla's invention and still have electricity but it would be free. Organizations already invested well into the coal for energy fought the Tesla invention because if there is not a way to make money from it, then how can those organizations get rich??? They would rather feed on their fellow man's income than to help their fellow man survive comfortably and prosper.
Because of dirty coal organizations and our government officials obeying their commands, watch the following video to see what we missed: (sent to me from Tom Price, Tennessee Coal Ash Survivors Network)

We will be burning coal in this country long after the ones who read this is dead. Almost two thirds of this nation's electricity comes from coal fired plants. Until coal ash/waste is listed as hazardous, we will be living with the dangers of no regulations. The only thing we can look forward to is regulations that finaly gets things cleaned up and institute adequate storage of coal ash. I am talking about better dams with lined ponds, and only allowing so much in each pond. Then that pond would be sealed. But, we have shaken the ground around EPA and Washington. At least they are listening. It is tragic the our community had to suffer a disaster to even get them to look our way. We have to keep working as a community to hold TVA's feet to the "coal fire". Each day we take a small step forward. There are some unsung heroes in this effort. They know who they are.
So, we keep on working each day. We keep the debate going. And we keep our disaster in the eyes of the world.
I disagree, Rick
We need to make plans to end coal burning as soon as possible, and the technology is at hand. If we internalize the true cost of coal, we can't afford electricity produced this way.
What we need is the collective will to oppose the coal lobby and to call our legislators to task when they take coal money with one hand and introduce legislation written by big coal with the other.
Ken Yager...You listening?
