Sales tax in its present form is an absurd form of revenue for Roane County. It's no secret that Roane County taxpayers pay millions in taxes to other counties because of it.
The "Big sucking sound" we hear coming from the direction of Turkey Creek is your hard earned money going to support these people.

Tennessee as a whole is stupid to put all its revenue stream eggs in a basket called sales tax. Revenue diversity is the key to a healthy state economy. Legislators and governors don't seem to realize that.
