WC - a few days ago you mentioned the CASA 5K run held at Roane State each year. Of course, CASA is a wonderful and very necessary cause.

I found out - via the RCN! - that this years CASA run/walk is being held in honor of and dedicated to a long-time friend of mine, Dick Evans. Dick, a Kingston attorney, has strongly supported CASA forever. I think it is totally fitting that this run this year is in his honor.

The run is being held this Saturday, May 2, on the campus of RSCC. The race starts at 8AM. And the weather forecast is really cooperating: it is supposed to be BEAUTIFUL Saturday morning!

Below is an exerpt from the RCN article:

"Richard Evans to be honored with 5K race
Longtime Kingston attorney Richard K. Evans loyally served on the CASA of the 9th District board. For all he has done, this year’s Run for the Child 5k run/walk —Saturday morning at Roane State Community College’s Roane County campus — is being dedicated in his honor. Evans was an integral part of the CASA financial committee as the organization, which serves abused and neglected children in Roane, Morgan and Loudon counties, was in its formative years. His dedication has included time, expertise, money and active participation in the run itself. CASA’s Run for the Child is a certified 5K run. The course is flat to gently rolling. Registration on the day of the race begins at 7 a.m. The race starts promptly at 8. Entrants also can sign up online at (link...) "

I hope folks will come participate in the run or walk, or come to see it and support the cause of CASA.

Come say hellow - and thanks - to Dick Evans!
