I'm just going to have to plug my nose when I vote for him this time.

Found this girl in the Midtown area. She has the sweetest disposition EVER!!! I hope someone knows her, or wants her. Otherwise, I'll have to take her to the shelter this weekend because I just can't rescue anymore :(

or the World's Largest Treehouse. I call it a work of art.

I went this weekend and this place is surreal. Walking through is the closest I've felt to actually being inside a fairy tale book. A must-see! I can't believe I left my camera at home.

Let's face it, Facebook is huge. A lot of local candidates have FB pages... it's free! They have both personal pages and "Elect Me" pages. But if not managed properly, could those pages actually lose some votes?

I have to admit, when I see a candidate is a fan of FB pages or a member of FB groups representing polarizing issues, groups, or people I oppose like Friends of Coal, the Tea Party, Sarah Palin, etc., it gives me pause in the booth. FB can be very revealing without a candidate even knowing it.

I won't go so far as to say I wouldn't vote for them, but it definitely signals my brain that the candidate shares different ideals/values than me that I otherwise would not know. Good for me to know, not so good for the candidate.

I would advise local candidates to clean up their FB pages and stick to the local issues that are important to locals. If a candidate doesn't want to change their views on their personal FB page, then don't make that page public and accept friends cautiously. Just my two cents.

but government regulation isn't ALL bad. Left to their own devices, companies like this one would let people die because of greed...literally.

"Many of the callers were Hispanic or Asians who could barely speak English, and some of them were dying of cancer and couldn't get their medical bills paid. It was horrible getting yelled at by customers, and not being able to do anything to help them."

...the state included bank records of SDS showing that Posey had written numerous checks from the company accounts for personal expenses, including more than $135,000 in donations to the University of Alabama Crimson Tide Foundation and the school's athletic boosters club.

"A Lowe’s Home Center in east Tennessee is being sued for discrimination because it forced an employee who is Baptist to work on Sundays..."

Sure, and I bet he never shopped Lowe's Home Center or any other store on a Sunday, before he actually had to work on a Sunday. (sarcasm)

Sometimes I worry about our state.

I knew the tea baggers met in Nashville February 4th, but I had no idea how much hatred they brought into our state that day. Pretty sad day.

My memories of Swan Pond are not near as vivid as some of my friends who still live there, or who still own property there, or whose parents and grandparents have lived there for generations, and still live there.

But I will share anyway. I grew up during my “wonder years” on the lower end of Highland Drive, just off Pine Ridge Road leading into Swan Pond. Except the coal trucks, there’s more traffic on Highland Drive today than ever was before, thanks to the sludge.

The City of Kingston closed down the two Kingston stores on election day. Apparently they are the only two stores in the entire state that are closed today.

Stores in Harriman aren't complaining, though.

I just wonder what the city's reasoning was to close the stores?
