Do we need our tax money going to hired guns in our schools? I want safe schools for our children. I want quality education for our children. I don't believe hired guns will accomplish those goals. On one hand the we are told that people don't want a big brother government (a police state), but on the other they support militaristic measure like our small children passing armed guns in the hallways. I am not in favor of extra funding for hired guns. I have visited 3rd world countries. They have hired guns on every street corner and at the door of every building. It just looks and feels militaristic, because it is.
Keep in mind; since Australia passed tough gun laws, homicides by firearm have declined almost 60 percent. Could the US learn from Australia's gun-control laws? - (link...). I am not against guns, but the solution isn't as simple as adding more guns in the school. I cannot support continuing to increase the tax rate only in the name of safety, when it's not safe.
Tell the School Board to spend our tax dollars on education not guns.

No matter how well intentioned, we do not need teachers who have taken a firearms course to be armed at school. Secretly at that.
