Hurley Blames Liberals for Her Dog Problem

Submitted by WhitesCreek on June 20, 2012 - 5:39am.

This is the stupidest quote I've read in some time...

“I think it’s a liberal ploy to take the attention off the bills and the legislation I’ve passed and the positive things I’ve done, to make me look like a bad person,” the Lenoir City Republican said.

Since Hurley is being ripped apart by the foamiest of East Tennessee's right wing bloggers who is a former Knox County Republican Party chairman, I hardly think blaming Liberals is going to fly. As for all those positive things she's done and the good legislation she's passed, here's the list:

(crickets)

stop it or I'm telling

The power of liberals is amazing.

There are herds of Elephants and Donkeys, and those in between, joining forces on the anti-Hurley campaign.

new slogan, "don't blame me; blame them"

Me? A liberal? I guess it

Me? A liberal? I guess it depends on the definition one might use on a certain day. I'm just not supporting her because she isn't what we need for this district. Yes, I thought she was when I helped her during the last election. However, I now realize that we sent a follower to Nashville; not a leader.

Who was holding the dog out the window

This article you linked brings up a good question, who was this holding the dog out the window while she shot the video, this person should be held accountable to.
I am more shocked that she was backing a bill to restrain lap dogs and then she comes out and videos her dog hanging out the window and post it on YOUTUBE really.....
I know that I can say don't blame me I voted for Ferguson....all you people who got caught up with the republican sweepstakes realized we were all losers here in District 32!

Sorry

ArmyStrong I am so sorry... I am one of those people that got caught up in the GOP Sweep... If you will join me... I will help you vote her out this time!!! I PROMISE.

Constitutional question...

The TN Constitution is a pretty lousy piece of work when you get down to it. It actually says Roane County has to be represented by someone from Roane County:

Section 9. No person shall be a representative unless he shall be a citizen of the United States, of the age of twenty-one years, and shall have been a citizen of this state for three years, and a resident in the county he represents one year, immediately preceding the election.

Tips to Rikki for the heads up!

Amended?

Is it possible this section has been amended? Heaven knows most bills have a few of them. It may no longer require that residency. I'll see if I can locate some info, should be very interesting everywhere if is has not been amended. Wouldn't that mean you couldn't have any multi-county districts?

Re: Constitutional question

This doesn't actually show if that residency requirement has been amended, but item 1) qualifications and item 5) where to file seem contradictory.
