At a time when small businesses could not get affordable loans to create jobs, the Fed was providing trillions in secret loans to some of the largest banks and corporations in America that were well represented on the boards of the Federal Reserve Banks.

In a conversation at a mutual friend's house and possibly after an adult beverage or two, Lincoln told me that his greatest concern about the bailout wasn't the money we knew about but the money the Fed was funneling to who knows who. He threw out the order of magnitude of a "Trillion Dollars", but he was wrong. It was Four Trillion dollars!
