Attempting to direct some of the creative energy and wit from posters on this site is like herding chickens. Although no sinister or ulterior motive is at play here, many posters refuse, or are incapable of, or too ornery, or (other) to cooperate, for whatever reasons. Rather than discouragement however, I am feeling a sense of humor at work as the various personalities and their verbal tendencies come into play. Also it's a free lesson on peaceable, individualized mob psychology! :>)
So fellow posters, welcome to the final day of the bumper sticker gong show. When this thread is completed at midnight today, the valid entries will be transferred to a poll and voting will begin. At this time it is a tossup which will come first - The ash removal or the anti-ash bumper sticker. :>)
Only valid entries filed as per instructions will be used. Come on folks, it ain't rocket science, and the directions are straightforward. Thanking you in advance for your efforts to share in the success of the TVA ash-hole bumper sticker competition derby.

Maybe the rules don't work,
Maybe the rules don't work, Leaf. I think the one entry per customer rule isn't working. I know you wanted to get more of the folks involved who audit but don't contribute and that's worthy but not practical.
So gong me again.

It's like a lesson in civics
Now class, how does an idea get turned into a policy in a democracy?
Apply good intentions, discuss ideas, debate endlessly, descend into anarchy, offer amendments to amendments, argue with each other, ....On second thought, I have no idea.

This is good
Now if you would go to the official site, post in Subject line Entry #12, then type in your witty submission, it would be an official entry, the rules would work, and we would have a manageable number of entries to work with.

Farmer Leaf
I'm with WhitesCreek on this one. Why not let folks put in more than one entry, as would be usual in a formal brainstorming session?
Which is more important, getting the very best entry, or the one-submission rule?
But this one's your game since you started it. :)

How to sort it out
Given the number of people who might participate in multiple entries, we could easily have more entries than voters. Then how would we decide? The brainstorming has been going on for at least a couple of weeks, and at some point, even the Senate closes debate and votes.
I could see this going on ad infinitum, TVA would have it all cleaned up, and then we would have to start all over with a new bumper sticker campaign.
TVA-Thanks, but it was your responsibility!

I'm not voting for my entry
I imagine some others might do the same. Even more might not submit an entry but would still vote. :)
Also, it probably wouldn't hurt if we had so many good ones we truly came to an impasse. Folks could always use Cafepress.com or some similar service to order any number of designs.
But, as I said previously, this is your game and I bow to your leadership. :)

How many good ones
would be enough?
Rumsfeld was right, "democracy can be messy!"
I am counting on there being more voters than entries. That's the reason I had the 1 entry per person rule. We would like to have a common, consistent message we are "broadcasting" to the larger driving public. If it's an everybody makes up their own vanity sticker deal, then I am wasting my time and yours.
I was attempting a little experiment. Can people sharing a common website, and a common goal, come together as a virtual group and actually do something on a physical level in a community way from their keyboard?
If we ask a printer to make 35 runs of 20 stickers each, the cost will be prohibitive. I have no idea what Cafepress.com is.

Only on roaneviews...
Only on roaneviews is where people can even debate over coming up with a bumper sticker. Let's just decide on a good one, and get this ball rolling. My bumper is lonely.
