The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation will hold a joint meeting on Tuesday, June 23, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Roane State Community College Theatre to discuss ongoing recovery efforts at the Kingston site. The theatre is located in the O’Brien Building on campus at 276 Patton Lane in Harriman, Tenn.

The meeting will be divided into two segments:

(1) From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., an open house will be held featuring representatives from the three sponsoring agencies, as well as the U.S. Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Tennessee Department of Health and the Oak Ridge Associated Universities. The representatives will provide information and answer questions.

(2) From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., a recovery briefing and moderated listening session with EPA, TVA and TDEC will be held. The listening session will provide the public with another opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts.

After the briefing, all agency representatives will again be available in an open house format to provide information and answer any remaining questions.

To reach the Roane State Theatre, use the first entrance to the campus off of Patton Lane. Anyone requiring special assistance should contact Catherine Mackey at 865-632-4077.
