There seems to be a lot of disagreement on the effects of creating a Fire Tax District and some other facets of the current proposal to bring the Volunteer Fire Departments under County control.
For one thing it looks like those of us in the County will have our taxes raised, and we would like to know what we would get for our money? Paricularly since we get pretty darned good fire protection as things now stand with our volunteer units.
One other thing that stands out here is that this is something that affects a lot of people in this county, not just the Fire Departments...Why haven't we been given a lot more information about this before now?

I agree WC. Why do people want to fix something that isn't broken? Our fire depts. do an outstanding job. I used to be chief of one of the departments years ago, and the departments have come a very long way since then.
