RCUD Raises Water Rates 20%

I'm really curious to see a balance sheet for RCUD. The fixed costs must be massive for the numbers to require a 20% rate increase when you reduce your cost of goods 20% even as your sales drop by a similar amount.

The increase makes the current minimum of $25.90 for the first 1,500 gallons go up to $31.08.

The next tier, which is currently $9.45 per 1,000 gallons up to 50,000 gallons will go to $11.34 per 1,000 gallons.

The final tier, for customers using anything more than 50,000 gallons is $11.20 per 1,000 gallons currently and will go up to $13.44.

Just read entire piece in the paper. 1) Sad that no customers attended the meeting. It was held a week earlier than normal, so that might be the reason. Perhaps more will try to attend now. 2) Was surprised that the RCN actually covered the meeting.
