Middle Embayment

As of September 23, 2012, 67.1% of the ash was removed from the Middle Embayment. The tow road is also being constructed in the Middle Embayment so workers can complete the buttress along Segment 8 of the Perimeter Wall Stabilization.

Perimeter Wall Stabilization (PWS)

Work on the Perimeter Wall Stabilization continues. Minor repair work is being done on Segments 7 and 8. Work on Segment 2 is ongoing, and is approximately 40% complete.

TDEC Regulators Visit Ash Recovery Site

Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation regulators visited the site Monday, September 24, 2012. TDEC personnel were brought up to date on the status of the ash recovery and visited the project’s active work areas and the plant’s gypsum disposal area.

Jacobs Engineering Wins Safety Award

Jacobs Engineering Vice President and Region Manager, Ira Nadleman, came to the site Thursday, September 27, 2012, to present the Jacobs Zero Accident Award to Jacobs’ Kingston Recovery personnel. The award recognized Jacobs Engineering for achieving a zero accident record during 2011.
