Davidson County Chancellor Carol McCoy said it was neither oppressive nor unconstitutional to require voters to drive to a government office to obtain the photo ID required to vote under the 2011 law.
This is a strange ruling, given that almost a third of Tennessee counties do not have a license office. The voters in question must drive to another county to obtain a voter ID. This is onerous in thought and deed.
