Harriman Continues to Plan for Midtown Consumption

I would be interested in knowing the advantages of being gobbled up by the City of Harriman? Rockwood folks can no longer get to from I 40 nor Kingston without driving through Harriman. Every traffic light that is added on Highway 70 and 27 effective moves Rockwood another mile from I 40 in travel time, so maybe this is a secret plot to further isolate Rockwood.

I live in Midtown, and we don't want Harriman annexing us. Most of the property they are proposing is commercial, and the people who own it don't necessarily live in Midtown, so they don't care. For over 30 years Harriman, Kingston and to a lesser extent Rockwood have eased in closer and closer. The town of Midtown was not allowed to exist due to politics and legal posturing. I will be moving from the area in the next few years, so I doubt I will be affected. But if Harriman succeeds in this proposed annexation, there will be more and more.
