When compared with similar students without a history of concussions, athletes with two or more brain injuries demonstrate statistically significant lower grade-point averages.

No excuse to continue harming our students

It is irresponsible, even abusive, to continue to have students play American football. Don't today's students have enough trouble already? Shame, shame on all the adults involved.

Actually, I keep wondering

Actually, I keep wondering why they continue to use the hard shell helmet? That helmet design focuses on preventing skull fractures over concussions, and encourages the use of the head in tackles.

High school football has three times the concussions of the second most concussive sport, which turns out to be women's soccer. (I think that is a training issue for technique and the officials)
