Earth Encounter With Swift-Tuttle Comet Dust to Peak Tonight

This event is commonly called the Perseid meteor shower. WE should get a really good show after midnight tonight. Our sky is clear as I write this.

I watched for a little while around 1:30 and saw at least one Perseid, but there were others as well. A friend who stayed out all night says it was spectacular at times. I didn't go out at that particular time and my sky view is limited.
