Transition of Property Assessor's Office

Submitted by FairAssessments on August 3, 2012 - 6:40am.

A quick note this morning before I head out to finish picking up signs –

Thank you Roane County voters! I will give my all to ensure the Property
Assessor’s office is run openly, fairly and compliantly.

I will need help. As I’ve stated since the beginning, I will be talking with everyone in the office who is willing to work with me about continuing their service. I need good staff. I am very hopeful for a smooth, clean transition from the current Property Assessor.

Within the next 5 days I will be sending a letter to the current Property Assessor outlining my proposed transition plan so we can have a seamless changeover. The plan will outline my introductory meeting with the staff and the schedule for the one-on-one discussions about their intentions to continue working in the office under my leadership.

I am disappointed that a couple of the current employees have already indicated that they are not willing to continue their service. No matter the decision, I do expect those who feel that they cannot work under my leadership to conduct themselves professionally during this transition. We owe the people of Roane County a professional transition; as such any unprofessional actions or antics will not be tolerated.

Together we can have a great Office that is focused on fair property assessments for Roane County!

I am off to pick up signs, but in closing, I thank those who supported me, however, I pledge to "everyone" that I will run the office fairly for "all" of Roane County, including my employees.

Plenty of work to do...

Sincerely,

David, Property Assessor-elect

Congratulations, David. You

Congratulations, David. You ran a clean campaign against a barrage of personal attacks and persevered. I suspect your toughest task will be to conduct evaluations of the personnel to determine who should continue working for the people of Roane County and who shouldn't. That's why we supported you, the candidate with managerial experience. Good luck. You face a huge task and a lot of hard work.

congrats, David

Congrarulations, David. Your Master's degree is going to be of great value to you. Looking forward to your success.
