Destroying signs is no way

Destroying signs is no way to win an election. This kind of stuff makes all of Roane County look bad.

It's the kind of thing that is just wrong, whether you like the candidate or not. People who turn their back on this kind of activity just because they don't care for a candidate are a big part of the problem.

The newspaper said the

The newspaper said the police were investigating it and newspaper photos showed them taking finger prints off the vandalized truck. What are you expecting? A lynch mob to be formed at the old courthouse to track them down?

I was thinking maybe some of the candidates that live in Roane County could make a public statement that they do not endorse destruction of the oppositions signs and ask for the practice to cease.

The statement should have been made a month ago when the vandalism really started to get out of hand.

There's absolutely no place

There's absolutely no place in a civil society for the kind of campaigning that goes on in Roane County. Candidates that run a clean campaign are at a disadvantage here. And while I'm disappointed that Hurley's campaign signs were defaced, she'll not get the pity vote, I'm betting.

another sign destroyed/missing

Don't worry, somebody will have it changed back out for some other sign in a week or so.

I took this with a grain of "I'm going to have to have confirmation of this criminal act before I believe it". I've had it confirmed from two different sources. Not only that, the injury was compounded by the stolen fence posts being used to put up the Fleischman sign. This stinks.
