Update: Roane Classrooms Seek Help on DonorsChoose.org

Submitted by onetahiti on July 25, 2012 - 3:53pm.

Classrooms in Rockwood, Harriman, and Oliver Springs are asking for help on DonorsChoose.org, the excellent 501(3)(c) charity site for public schools.

Supporters of education, please consider giving even a little: Link....

I have to agree with OneT...

I've been to this website and I've used it to help in a very small way with some classroom needs. It is easy. And it is really neat to get the emails back showing the progress that's being made because of one's contributions, however meager.

I appreciate OneT's keeping us reminded when these needs arise.

It doesn't matter whether we all agree on all details of how to make the world a better place, I can't see how any of us could disagree on such a simple, concrete way to help directly in our own classrooms right here in Roane County.

Local classrooms still need help - books, organizers, software

A middle school in Rockwood needs books. A kindergarten in Harriman needs software. A first-grade class in Rockwood needs other things.

Please help? Some of these requests will time out soon.

The number of local classrooms seeking help is growing

Please consider stepping up to help these students? So many classrooms need help now, but if we each give a little, all those students can gave the books etc. that they need. See: Link...

Yes, the school district should provide these books and other items, but the reality is that they don't. Please help our classrooms be better than the low funding from the district allows?
