Global warming: To be or not to be?Submitted by swanpondresident on July 12, 2012 - 7:10am.
Not tying politics into this post other than I simply do not understand why one cannot be environmentally wise and fiscally conservative. Another conversation for another day. Seems to be a perfect opportunity for a candidate if they would practice. Just about every time I pick up an item, I look to view where manufactured and China seems to be the more common location. Never having been to China, I can only imagine the bellowing smoke stacks, horribly polluted air, and masses of people going to work in factories. Then, take this year's heat (as well as other years of extensive odd weather patterns), and to me it is clear global warming is a real problem. Ran across this article today which I find questionable and thought I would share.

I had some trouble actually finding the name of the journal that study was published in. When I finally did the study turned out to be far different from what the article claimed (Surprise, surprise, and there was a Fox News connection as well). What the study I found said was that climate change deniers know about as much as climate change acceptors, unlike previous assumptions. The real difference was whether you personally stand to gain or lose by the acceptance of climate change. Furthermore, looking at the questions asked in the study, I find them to be as bad as the ones normally asked in history exams, i.e., it doesn't make one bit of difference WHEN the Magna Carta was signed. What matters is that it was the first widespread social contract between the rich and powerful aristocracy and the working class. In science, it matters not one bit that you know whether a laser works by focusing sound waves, (it doesn't) but whether you understand how to use the scientific method and critical thinking to figure things out. The scientific method is the reasoning method that forces humans to take emotion and wishful thinking out of the process of determining answers to questions, something climate change deniers are totally aghast of.
We can expect a rash of disinformation now that world climate scientists in public statements have eliminated the 0.001% of possibility that the current heat waves, drought, fires, and strong storms are related to human caused climate change.
The Blaze, in which your reference article appeared, is owned by the group behind that paragon of disinformation, Glen Beck.
As usual, Whitescreek got to the bottom of the report. How on earth can one deny Global Warming?
I have traveled expensively in China.
The pollution is absolutely horrible...by 10:00 am you are looking through a grey, stinky smog cloud of pollution. For every factory full of people working, there are 3 to 5 new factories standing empty AND 5-7 new factories compounds under construction.
When I asked my interpreter why they were building so many factories he told me that China had decided that all labor intensive manufacturing will be brought to China and they were building the factories to create that capacity to produce.
The truth is that the population must be given jobs or at least paychecks, so they are creating work for the people. China is the global warming stink bomb of the world. They are wonderfully gracious people and they smile constantly while they work...they are completely thankful for any opportunity to work that presents itself.
You hit the nail on the head "They are wonderfully gracious people and they smile constantly while they work...they are completely thankful for any opportunity to work that presents itself."
Have you been to a fast food restraunt lately, they cannot even get your order right and smile! I encourage people to use the Mcdonalds where hispanics work. They always smile and they are very fast and efficient. Americans have lost work ethics and have became a give me society!
