Santorum Does Not Want the US to Be a Republic?

From a Rick Santorum for President emailed newsletter today: "President Obama's vision for this country is to fundamentally change us from a free market, capitalist system to a Republic in the mold of the faded, decrepit Republics of Western Europe."

The letter bore Santorum's signature.

So being a republic is bad? Wow. Wow. Wow.

And it seems to me we could learn a thing or two from some of those "faded, decrepit republics in Western Europe."
