I wonder about the importance of this...Submitted by RoaneBooster on December 22, 2011 - 1:18pm.
I have for a long time thought of Steve Cohen (D - TN) as one of the most intelligent legislators of either party that I have known. I began to admire him when he was in the TN legislature from Memphis (pronounced MAM-fuss). But I have to wonder if the air or kool-aid or something in DC has worked to the detriment of his neurons. See: Do our legislators have time to be worrying about NCAA? (I happen to agree with him, I just am not sure of the real priority this should have on the national legislative agenda.) RB

I must have missed your post about the importance of House Republicans passing a bill to buy a new bust of Winston Churchill while the Federal Budget Bill sits there with no action.
I can't see everything. I don't get paid enough.
I did not write this to pick on any party or on Steve Cohen. I tried to make my positive regard for Representative Cohen clear, but apparently I failed.
I found this reference in a non-partisan email publication I get that sends information about goings-on in Tennessee.
I am quite happy to be an equal opportunity nag, and agree that a new bust of Winston Churchill is not likely a high national legislative priority item, either.
I don't have enough information to question the good intent of either Cohen or whatever GOP folks presented the bill about a bust of Winnie. I question both their senses of priority.
If the standards of decorum of this forum require that I post things with negative implications directed only toward Republicans, just say the word - you know I understand that you are the owner of this forum.

No worries, RB. I do know there is some "Truth in Advertising" jostling at the collegiate level on a playoff system. Cohen spends a lot of time working for progressive causes and has been responsive to me, even though I'm not a constituent.
As for only posting good things about Dems and bad things about Republicans, I would actually love to post something in praise of a GOP action. All they have to do is act for the greater good and I'll be all over it.
Cohen has been responsive to me (when he was at state level), although I'm obviously not a constituent either. I like the guy, and think he's smart as hell.
I'd have griped just as quick at the Repub deal with the bust if I had seen it, too, BTW.
Like I said - I try to be an equal oppportunity gripe.
