SEEN ANY GHOSTS LATELY?Submitted by mushy on July 19, 2010 - 11:17am.
I recently read about paranormal investigators spending time in the old Alexander Inn in Oak Ridge. ![]() Now I find out that they have also visited the old Swan Pond Methodist Church and graveyard trying to catch glimpses of ghosts of the preacher that hung himself in the bell tower, and of the half a dozen good people that supposedly died after eating a fellowship supper there. ![]() I also understand that some local teenagers have spent time on the hill trying to see and photograph these apparitions. My question is, "Have you done it? Do you have photos?"

I personally don't believe in ghost, and the "orbs" people talk about is the camera flash catching dust particles hanging in the air. I can reproduce an orb shot at any time if you don't believe me.
Also, the Bible says (Ecclesiastes 9:5) - New American Standard Bible (©1995)
For the living know they will die; but the dead do not know anything, nor have they any longer a reward, for their memory is forgotten.
Mushy
Right on the money, there, Mushy... Especially with low light conditions and digital cameras. They can take a particle and, given wind shifts, it will look like some big light moving up and down or all over the field of view. Digital signals are processed in different ways than our eyes see, and can make a speck of dust or almost anything look like we've found "photographic" evidence of something really "spashul."
I'm really OVER all those shows that use low-light technology and/or IR stuff and show really grainy photos or videos on TV as if they're doing some significant "investigative" service. The very technology of low light and digital photography combined is what makes those things possible. It's amazing how gullible people can be that want to see that kind of stuff on TV. And what a profit margin those people have when they sell their "paranormal investigation" show: the cameras cost relatively little and they just spend some time in a dark building or outside in the dark, and let their digital equipment find the dust particles for 'em. And then jump around and holler "OMG - what was that?!" at their comrades.
what a hoot...
