Lincoln Davis is publicly undecided but we've been told he's a NO vote. I predict the bill is going to pass and Lincoln will be on the wrong side of history. Unions are a big supporter of Lincoln's and have promised to punish members of congress who stand in the way of health insurance reform.

The majority of Americans are opposed to this terrible bill so your argument that he isn't supporting his constituents is a little misleading. No, make that a lot misleading!!

Based on the polls, in the list you provided, it appears you are right. I don't know how you read into my previous post how I lean but I'm proud to say you are right again. I only regret that I was not able to take part in one of the polls so my voice could have been heard.

Actually, the majority of Americans are for this bill. And when you break the features out and ask if they are for or against each of the features, such as ending restrictions on pre-existing conditions, Americans support the bill by more than a two thirds majority. I suggest you change channels to something besides FOX.

Well of course they are when you ask specific "feel-good" questions and leave out the important stuff like how it will work or be paid for. That's a ridiculous way to poll people. Are you for letting puppies live or killing puppies? Wow the majority is for letting puppies live. Imagine that!!!
Maybe YOU should quit drinking the liberal kool-aid and ask some tough questions about the VERY fuzzy accounting in this bill. This will not improve health care and will HURT the economy!! How do you tell insurance companies they have to cover everyone and then expect that will lead to lowering premiums? It won't and you know it. I'm all for insuring everyone as most everyone is but there is no free lunch and if it can't be sustained in its current form then doing something for the sake of simply doing something (as Obama has demanded) is insanity. Making things worse is certainly doing something but I'm not sure why that's all the Dems seem to care about.
Tanner is wrong to vote in favor of his supporters (insurance companies) and Lincoln Davis is wrong to vote against his supporters (unions)
I'll have to think about that philosophy.
Roane-Voter, very good link. I think it includes polls from quite a large pool.

Well the only poll that matters will be in November! Election Time! We will see then what the people think of how their representative voted today. That is how I am deciding if America was for the bill or not.

There is a big difference between a Statesman that knows what's right and a politician that only looks forward to the next election.
Life should be what matters not short term political gains, wins or losses. Think about that today and then again say in 20 years, not just this August or November during nasty elections. November will just be a poll of opinions anyway not the bills effectiveness. The November election will be skewed by the media and talking points of fear from both sides. Whether this is a good or bad bill is yet to be determined. With the bills phased in approach it will be years before we can truly evaluate its effectiveness, cost or savings. If this happens to provide medical care that actually saves someone whom we love before then or if it preserves our family or friends from medical bankruptcy, then I will know that it's a good bill.
It gets into my crawl for those that wave their Bibles in one hand while they personally think that they are above what's right and honest. I call BS on that hypocrisy. As the Roane County News said "don't be fooled"

is that if we wait for the perfect bill it will never come. The republicans could have done something about healthcare during the Bush years but making war was more important.
This is all about winning and losing. It is more important for the current minority to win, even if it means that we all lose. Fortunately for us, the majority, it looks like it is going to go through with all it's imperfections, including more unnecessary abortion language.
What is sadder than the favors and the pork in the sausage making process, is the necessity to negotiate with the outright liars in both parties that have poisoned the perception that folks have of this bill in total.
Some people think the Kansas Jayhawks lost this weekend, but in the bigger picture,All Americans lost a whole lot more! I know we need change but this will be just like the bailout. How many "new" jobs have you seen lately?

One of the main reasons, if not the most important, being that the overwhelming majority of the constituents I represent opposed this plan, regardless of their party affiliation.”
If we are just going to take a poll, why do we need to elect anybody to do the job? I am a big supporter of Lincoln but I'm not proud and happy on this one.
There will always be (unnamed Democrats) that are for anything the Democratic Party in Washington thinks "best" for us. And there will always be (unnamed Republicans) that will do the same. We did this folks. We did this by voting to send professional politicians to Washington. Good or bad, the outcome of this lies soley on the voter. You can blame Obama, Pelosi, Reid, or whoever you want. You can be disappointed in Lincoln Davis. However, we, the people elected them. So, we should accept the fallout; good or bad. I for one was against this bill for the simple fact that Medicare will be cut fro 80% to 70%. Some doctors, including my own will drop medicare insurance. And, the elderly and disabled will foot some of the cost of this bill.
I don't watch FOX news. I will find that piece in the bill and try to link it. I'm not too good at that link thing though. My computer skills are limited. But, I will try.

The only cuts I can find are not to Medicare but to Medicare Advantage, a supplemental private insurance add on to Medicare that was heavily subsidized in the past. A lot of misinformation was put out about this because it essentially allowed private insurers to charge both ways for supplemental insurance to cover gaps in Medicare coverage purposefully voted in undder Bush. The gaps ("doughnut hole") have been greatly reduced and there is no need to subsidize private insurance to fill them. Private insurers were of coursse screaming bloody murder, as any parasite would do when it's blood supply was cut off.
In regard to the Advantage plans, they were given some very special consideration in Florida. Consideration for one state should be extended to all states. But that doesn't work with sausage making.

Could you please post a link to a legitimate poll that shows that a majority of Americans are opposed to the bill?
I have a feeling any poll I post will be called illegitimate based on your apparent leanings.
Here is a table showing a bunch of different polls so take your pick.

We are too rural an area to even be included in a poll about dog catchers.
Not true Chelsea. I have been a Gallup poll member for years. I probably participate in 3-4 polls per month.
How cool is that!!
Haha. Never thought taking part in polls would get me cool points. Thanks!!

Less than 50% is not a majority.
Less than 50% is not a majority, but 49 is sure enough more than 40.something.

Well since Lincoln is a representative shouldn't he represent his constituents?
Well said. At least Lincoln listened to his constituents. Something I fear many others across the country did not do. We shall see.
It appears Tanner and Davis have not done a very good job educating their constituents.
