FYI From my contacts in Alabama...

Our latest news is that the landfill operators have been caught (filmed) pumping leachate into a nearby stream at night. I believe that to be a felony. The Hurricane Creek Riverkeeper has the evidence and is pushing for prosecution. We'll see how it goes. Ostensibly the leachate was being trucked to a different WTP, one that could properly treat it, unlike the original, closer, one. But it is way cheaper to just pump it out!
