Coming Friday: A fractured community - The Kingston fly ash spillSubmitted by randyellis on December 17, 2009 - 8:46pm.
An estimated 5.4 million cubic yards of sludge burst from a failed retention pond for the TVA Kingston fossil plant near Harriman in the early morning of Dec. 22, 2008. The aftermath of the spill has forever left an impact on the neighboring Swan Pond community. The online team at knoxnews.com has produced a video documentary exploring the impact on this community that will published Friday, Dec. 18 at noon. You can find full coverage of the spill in the Sunday News Sentinel.
