Will this be Jessie Jackson Jr.'s replacement. Sure hope the people of Illinois have enough sense not to elect him. If they do elect him, they may as well exonerate Blagovitch (sp?) ( categories: )

Today is Veterans Day, not Monday when many get a holiday. We all need to thank those who have served or are serving to protect theis great country. Remember those who did not make it back, remember those who came back, but were so changed that they were never the same again. Be thankful for all who give part of their lives so we can vote, agree or disagree, speak freely and bear arms if we so wish. Hands down, the United States of America is still the greatest country in the world. Submitted by chelsea on August 31, 2012 - 7:02am.

Don't understand why a local business would do this. A contractor operates this utility, so they may have done it and not told the actual utility board. Need to call Mr. Woody and see who the board is and give them a call. Submitted by chelsea on August 3, 2012 - 9:38pm.
What the heck is this? I also saw some on FB who are members of TNDP urging write in candidates. I usually try to follow primaries, though I don't vote in them usually. Submitted by chelsea on July 28, 2012 - 3:11pm.
This moving tribute was not included in NBC's coverage of the opening ceremony. Thought I would share it with you. Submitted by chelsea on July 6, 2012 - 6:38am.
Although I don't know Ms. McCoin personally, I do enjoy her sprited participation here on RoaneViews. Her father has been ill, and has passed away. Please remember the family in your prayers. Submitted by chelsea on July 2, 2012 - 2:41pm.
Before you begin celebrating Independence Day, won't you take time to give to Medic? Submitted by chelsea on June 15, 2012 - 7:47am.
Mr. Johnson and Mr. Ferguson shared an apartment while they were both serving in the Tennessee Legislature. They are very close friends. A "lapse in judgement" is being kind. DA employees should have been advised early on about how a government employee should or should not assist a candidate. Now, if it was done on the employee's home computer on his/her own time it is a mute point. But, if a computer from the DA's office was used, be it before or after work hours it is not acceptable. If memory serves me, several years ago Roane Central water looked into building a water plant. They abandoned the idea, apparently prematurely. With Rockwood WSG having these financial problems, it will continue to make Roane Central rates continue to climb. Roane Central is handcuffed by Rockwood. This was on Facebook today. Midtown Elementary PTO We have been studying the results of the Parent Survey. We only received 24 back. There is a little over 350 students at Midtown Elem. So, we will be sending it back out again! Please watch for it, fill it out, and send it back. Submitted by chelsea on January 11, 2012 - 8:28am.
I have high regard for Mr. Ellis, but this troubles me. He has in the past stated that he is focused on being a County Commissioner. He has not completed his term and should he become the representative it would mean a vacancy on the commission. I followed the FB chatter over the weekend, and his giving thought to this doesn't surprise me. I would urge him to carefully consider prior to making a decision. I would hate it if he got a reputation of not fulfilling his comitments to his constituents. Submitted by chelsea on January 9, 2012 - 8:10pm.
I find this amusing since Mr. Beets and Mr. Pinkerton were playing a game of getting specifications and then changing the rules to exclude bidders. They were pretty proud of themselves. Submitted by chelsea on November 21, 2011 - 7:54pm.
I don't think the legislative committees should have closed door meetings, and I don't think counties should try to close their committee meetings. Submitted by chelsea on September 20, 2011 - 9:41am.
Food for thought. Submitted by chelsea on August 23, 2011 - 1:49pm.
This is sad news, about a true lady. I think this is one thing we can all agree on. Submitted by chelsea on July 21, 2011 - 4:55pm.
All the reference to 33 Tennessee Congressional District being gerrymanderd. Go to the State Legislature web site and take a look at some of these: 80, 72, 74, 38 and just marginally 22. Roane is not gerrymandered. Link... Submitted by chelsea on July 21, 2011 - 1:58pm.
I'm stuck at the doctor's office, so I won't be at Roane Central's meeting at 3:00 PM. They are excited about their renovations and want everybody to see what is going on. Even if you are late, they are always glad to see you. Submitted by chelsea on July 4, 2011 - 7:05pm.

I have been told that I don't understand a lot of stuff....so just bear with me folks. Shouldn't this meeting have been scheduled earlier...say like October or November!! Submitted by chelsea on March 26, 2011 - 8:24pm.
I wonder if these people that come up with "real options" have a grip on real life? Submitted by chelsea on March 24, 2011 - 10:16am.
This does not show TEA in a very positive light. If one point of view can be posted on the said websites/blogs etc, then opposing ones should be allowed. Even Mr. WC lets opposing view on his site most of the time. Submitted by chelsea on January 8, 2011 - 12:25pm.
Parts of Midtown without electric service. Can't get a hold of REU, either line busy or it rings and rings then you get a busy signal. Their website states they have automated answering...not working. Have to get ready for work!!! Submitted by chelsea on January 7, 2011 - 12:29pm.
I will confess I don't understand all the aspects of the 1998 legislation that set this situation in force. But, I have always wondered why the county has not opposed Kingston and Harriman attempting to annex outside their urban growth boundary. Submitted by chelsea on December 29, 2010 - 4:49pm.
Newsmax is a source I take with a shaker of salt. Chris Matthews wants Obama to release his "long' birth certificate. Submitted by chelsea on December 15, 2010 - 7:18pm.
Anybody know what the Roane County School system's policy is in regard to transportation? At least one bus in the Oliver Springs district couldn't/wouldn't run on some roads (Mahoney/Poplar Creek Rd & Hartland Estates). Did this happen anywhere else in the county? If the bus cannot operate safely, how does the school system think that cars can operate safely? Is it a matter of legal liability? Can't sue the school if they don't run your bus. 1) Why is the earmark ban tied to a FOOD SAFETY bill? Shame on all of them for continuing to try to fool us. They should all vote openly and reap the benefit or suffer the consequence. Only a few Democrats have committed to supporting the ban proposed by Sens. Tom Coburn (R-Oka.) and Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), which will be voted on as an amendment to the food-safety bill. http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/130599-passage-of-earmark-ban-in-doubt Submitted by chelsea on November 15, 2010 - 9:00am.
This is an interesting development in the Rockwood WSG story. ( categories: )

So, will there be a buy-out? I would think his continued employment with someone he has sued would be a very uncomfortable situation. I know there are laws that should prevent harassment, but there are bound to be hard feeling on all sides. Submitted by chelsea on October 20, 2010 - 7:12am.
The Roane Central Utiliy board meeting has been changed from 10/21 to 10/28 at 3 PM at their office in Midtown. It is open to the public. They can answer any questions you ask. ( categories: )
